Mary Baker Eddy's statement in Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures undergirds the purpose of the Spiritual Resource Library:

Acquaintance with the original texts, and willingness
to give up human beliefs (established by hierarchies, and
instigated sometimes by the worst passions of
men), open the way for Christian Science to be
understood, and make the Bible the chart of life, where
the buoys and healing currents of Truth are pointed
out.  (Science and Health 24:4-10)

In harmony with this statement, the Library offers an extensive selection of Bible and Christian Science-related resources to help promote vigorous and penetrating Bible study. Predominately Bible commentaries, translations and reference books—but also audio tapes, CDs, Bible software, videos, magazines, and a complete set of Christian Science Bound Volumes—support spiritual growth and close Scriptural study.

Specific study areas devoted to the Christian Science Weekly Bible Lesson have Bible resources at hand and instructional books on how to use them. Thus visitors are empowered to search the Scriptures for themselves.

Over 200 books comprise our children’s section. Anyone interested in spirituality of
children will also find these resources helpful.

While the Bible and Christian Science books comprise most of the collection, the Spiritual Resource Library has hundreds of other inspirational and educational titles. Topics range from history, literature, art, and nature, to environmental and global concerns, peace building, and world religions.

State-of-the-art internet capability and the Christian Science Sentinel, The Christian Science Journal, The Christian Science Monitor, the New York Times, and local newspapers, keep us connected to the world community.

As a convenience and for educational purposes, the Library has Bible and inspirational books, tapes, and CDs for sale, and we’re happy to do book searches and take mail orders.

The Spiritual Resource Library offers a place for quiet contemplation and appreciation of the things of Soul in an atmosphere that promotes spiritual blossoming.
